McDonald, Amie

Statement: Amie McDonald is a native of New Jersey. She majored in Business Administration and retired as a Computer Programmer.  When Amie McDonald and her husband began looking for a place to retire, they wanted somewhere to play golf but also a place that offered other amenities and social opportunities. They felt Fairfield Glade offered the variety they wanted, and in 2008 they moved to the Glade.

Biography: In 2016, Amie became a member of the Art Center. She loves many different art forms and has taken advantage of the classes offered at the Art Center. She discovered a passion for working with silver and made a jump ring and chain maille bracelet. Amie is currently working with precious metal clay, silver soldering, and chain maille. Pottery and architecture are other art form passions of Amie’s. She’s often awed by the ability of painters.

While teaching is not something Amie wishes to do, she presents herself as a “good helper” to those who teach. When not involved with art of some sort, Amie loves to travel and has appreciated many cruises. Other pleasures of hers are reading, knitting, crocheting, and swimming.
