Robb, Howard

Wood

Statement: Howard Robb proves there is something to be said about Fairfield Glade. A true native to Central New Jersey, he lived there his whole life. In 1987, Howard and his wife, Dawn, purchased a lot to build a home in the Glade. Howard worked as a butcher for many years. He also worked in construction as a carpenter. In 1986, he worked at Rutgers University as head of all new construction on the campus.

Biography: Howard and Dawn Robb’s love of golf brought them to Fairfield Glade. In 1987, they purchased a lot to build a home, but it wasn’t until 1999 that the Robb’s moved to Fairfield Glade as full-time residents. Howard never studied art, but in 2002 he was introduced to the Art Center. Carpentry has always been one of Howard’s passions. He worked with Danson construction and the architect and volunteered to be the construction manager for the current Art Center we now occupy. The office desk housed in Endless Possibilities is one of Howard’s creations. He created the desk from a tree that stood on the property before the Art Center came to be. Howard’s creative ability also shows in the bird houses and feeders in the Endless Possibilities gift shop.

Howard enjoys playing golf, photography, gardening, and walking the trails in the area. He is currently the caretaker of the Art Center Lawn.

Howard and Dawn blended their families in 1985. They have seven sons, many daughters-in-law, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
