Smith, Katie

Statement: Katie Smith grew up in Florida where the Smith family lived until Katie’s high school graduation.  From there the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and then on to Jacksonville, Florida.   At an uncle’s suggestion the Smith family moved to the Crossville area, just the type of area and atmosphere they’d been looking for.  The Art Center in Fairfield Glade was a large factor in their decision to move.

Biography: Katie attended and graduated from Kennesaw College with a degree in art and a minor in psychology. 

Her preferred art medium has always been pastels but she’s also tried her hand at acrylics.  She can be inspired by most anything but is mainly inspired by nature…”it’s perfection in its imperfection”.

In her spare time Katie loves to read, loves watching movies, and admittedly can be a TV binge watcher.  She spends time working out as much as possible and enjoys writing, although she confesses to being a bit “flowery” in her verbiage.
